Introductory Page


The year 1985 was designated as "European Music Year" by the Europa Federation.
It marked the 400th birth anniversary of Henrich Schutz and 300th birth anniversaries of J. S. Bach, Dominico Scarlatti, and George Handel.
Thirty-five countries chose their own musical themes in issuing stamps to honor this 'Music Year'.
